Hi Reader,

One of the beautiful things about writing a book is that it captures what you understand at a particular moment in time.

One of the beautiful things about continuing to learn is realizing your understanding can deepen.

As I reflect on The Savvy Girl’s Guide to Thriving Beyond Narcissistic Abuse, there’s one idea I would expand on today.

In the book, I talk about the importance of slowing down.

Today, I would probably add this:

Sometimes we need to slow down even more than we think.

Not because we're doing healing "wrong."

But because a nervous system that has spent years living in survival mode often experiences stillness as unfamiliar.

One of the things I've come to recognize in my own life is that while my mind understood I needed to slow down, my body wasn't yet comfortable there.

After spending years moving at the pace of survival, slowing down felt unfamiliar. It took time for my nervous system to discover that a slower pace could also be safe.

I've come to see that healing isn't simply learning to move more slowly.

It's allowing ourselves to remain there long enough for our body to begin trusting what our mind may already know.

That has been one of my greatest lessons since writing the book.

Before I close, I’d love to ask you something.

If you’ve read The Savvy Girl’s Guide to Thriving Beyond Narcissistic Abuse, what stayed with you?

Was there a chapter you found yourself returning to?

An idea that shifted something?

A sentence you still remember?

Or perhaps the book simply helped you feel a little less alone.

If you have a moment, I’d love for you to simply hit Reply and tell me. I read every email personally, and hearing how the book has impacted readers continues to be one of the greatest gifts of this journey.

As the Barnes & Noble promotion comes to a close tomorrow, I simply wanted to thank you.

Whether you’ve purchased the book, shared it with someone else, recommended it, or simply encouraged me along the way, you’ve helped this message reach people who needed it.

If you’ve been thinking about reading the book—or sharing it with someone who may benefit from it—tomorrow is the final day of the promotion.

Thank you for being part of this community.

And thank you for allowing me to continue learning alongside you.

With gratitude,

Corissa

Hi! I'm a Trauma Informed Coach, Sound Practitioner, Narcissistic Abuse Specialist™, Author and Podcast Host

I work with women who feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or caught in patterns they can't quite seem to change. Some are navigating the effects of unhealthy relationships or relational trauma. Others have spent years putting everyone else's needs ahead of their own. Through trauma-informed coaching, nervous system awareness, and body-based practices, I help women better understand their responses, explore the patterns beneath them, and develop a more trusting relationship with themselves. I also offer private sound healing experiences for women seeking space to rest and reconnect.
