Conscious mind: "I can't sit still, I have to stay busy"

Hi Reader,

I want to share something with you — something I see happen over and over again in the women I work with (and truthfully, in myself too).

When you’ve spent years — maybe decades — in survival mode, the idea of slowing down sounds beautiful…
But the experience of slowing down can feel almost unbearable.

In so many of my sound healing sessions, women tell me the same thing after their first visit:
“At first, I felt like I couldn’t relax.”
“My mind wouldn’t stop… and then it did.”
“I had a hard time getting comfortable… and then I almost fell asleep.”

And then — almost in a whisper — they say:
“I haven’t felt that relaxed in a long time.”

This is the nervous system learning to trust again.
Because when the room gets quiet and the body finally has permission to soften, everything you’ve been holding at bay — the pressure, the fear, the grief, the exhaustion — starts to rise to the surface.

The nervous system senses this shift and immediately reacts:
“Not now.”
“It’s not safe.”
“I should be doing something.”
“If I slow down, everything might fall apart.”

That isn’t resistance.
That’s a protective strategy your body learned a long time ago.

So your mind races.
Your body fidgets.
Your breath gets shallow.
You can’t get comfortable — because your system is bracing, trying to keep you from touching what’s beneath the surface.

But here’s the truth:
That uncomfortable moment?
It’s the doorway.

Because what comes after it is a peace your body remembers but hasn’t felt in years:
Your breath deepens on its own.
Your jaw unclenches.
Your belly softens.
Your body exhales — a real, honest exhale — and you realize you’ve been holding your breath for far too long.

That is what it means to reset.
Not a quick fix…
but a gentle remembering.
A soft return to the rhythms your body was designed for — rest, nourishment, connection, and trust.

And here’s something most women don’t realize:
You can’t access that peace when your gut is inflamed or your nervous system is overwhelmed.
When digestion is sluggish, your mind becomes foggy and reactive.
When your body is stuck in fight-or-flight, stillness feels like danger.

Your gut and your nervous system heal together.
And when they do, everything changes — your energy, your mood, your clarity, your patience, your presence, your ability to feel like yourself again.

That’s exactly why Cristina and I created The Reset Retreat.
Not as a getaway…
but as a full-body reset designed to support your entire system — biologically, emotionally, and energetically.

Over three restorative days in Cochecton, New York (March 13–15, 2026), we’ll guide you through:

  • gentle movement and somatic practices
  • sound healing
  • red-light therapy
  • salt therapy
  • nourishing juices, smoothies, and healing meals
  • a restorative lymphatic massage
  • space to feel, breathe, and reconnect with yourself

And because healing happens best in small, safe spaces, this retreat is intentionally limited to just 8 women.

If you’ve been waiting for the “right time,” please know — healing rarely waits for perfect timing.
It waits for permission.
It waits for safety.
It waits for you.

💫 And this might be your moment to say yes.

Hi Reader, I wasn’t planning on offering anything for Black Friday or Cyber Monday this year. Truly. For years, I stayed far away from BFCM promotions because I never wanted to discount the depth of transformation that happens inside my 1:1 sessions. I also used to feel guilty — like offering a deal was somehow disrespecting the clients who invested at full price. But that was my own internal story… and something I’ve spent a lot of time healing. Because the truth is: The value of this work...

Hi Reader, There’s something important I want to share — something that can help make so much sense of what you’ve been feeling in your body. Your gut and your nervous system are deeply connected. They communicate constantly. And when one is overwhelmed, inflamed, or depleted… the other follows. If you’ve been noticing any of these: • bloating or digestive issues that flare with stress • waking with anxiety or a heavy chest • brain fog or trouble concentrating • inflammation or water...

Hi Reader, If you’ve been feeling ready for something softer — something that meets you where you are, instead of asking you to push through — I have a feeling this will speak to you. For months now, my dear friend Cristina Calvi and I have been dreaming up a space for women who are ready to step out of survival mode and into deep restoration. A weekend designed to help you rest, release, and remember what it feels like to feel good in your body again. Introducing... 🌿 The Reset RetreatMarch...
